Drier, 79, of Brooksville, was out driving his 93 Buick sedan northbound on Howell Avenue when he suddenly went across the center divider and into oncoming traffic. While in the southbound lane, Drier then struck Gustav Vossberg’s 2005 Lincoln sedan injuring him and his passenger Norma Vossberg. Gustav was in critical condition when arriving at Tampa General Hospital, while his wife who only suffered minor injuries; she was taken to Brooksville Regional Hospital. Drier who was critically injured, died at Brooksville Regional Hospital due to his condition. Florida Highway Patrol helped at the scene.
