Auto Accident Takes 1 Life

Eldon L. Drier, 79, of Brooksville, was out driving his 93 Buick sedan northbound on Howell Avenue when he suddenly went across the center divider and into oncoming traffic. While in the southbound lane, Drier then struck Gustav Vossberg’s 2005 Lincoln sedan injuring him and his passenger Norma Vossberg. Gustav was in critical condition when arriving at Tampa General Hospital, while his wife who only suffered minor injuries; she was taken to Brooksville Regional Hospital. Drier who was critically injured, died at Brooksville Regional Hospital due to his condition. Florida Highway Patrol helped at the scene.

Local Plant High Teen Dies in Accident

According to the Gainesville Sun, a Ford SUV that was being driven by Allyson Marie Faulk, 17, a student at Plant High School in Tampa, suddenly lost control and hit the median. Then she and passengers Elizabeth Mischo, 18; Karlyn McKell, 17; and Kristen Hurst, 17, struck trees when they drove off the northbound lane on interstate 75 in Alachua County. Faulk, died on scene as stated by the Florida Highway Patrol. Hurst was also considered to have life threatening injuries. She along with her other friends were taken to Shands Hospital at the University of Florida. The FHP also stated that alcohol was not a factor in the accident and investigation is still ongoing as to what caused the accident.
